Dibrova Yulia

Multidisciplinary artist and curator, currently working with installation, sculpture and performance. She holds a master's degree in political science, having defended her diploma on the gender aspect of the formation of power relations in Russia. Thus, questions about gender, power and feminism are reflected in her artistic practice.

In 2022 she graduated from ISI IB, in 2023 she became a participant of the 10th season of Winzavod Open Studios.

“I am currently interested in the intersection of the personal and the political, the virtual and the physical, the mythical and the modern, human interaction with technology, as well as the opposition of visibility/invisibility as the basis of an artist's self-representation. I create my projects based on events that I have personally experienced. As a method I often use inverting and rearranging “background and object”: when silence comes to the foreground against the background of noise, emptiness fills the media, and a sense of security is generated by trauma.”
