The art partner of the new AVA Bistro restaurants at Usachevsky Market and DEPO is the contemporary art gallery a—s—t—r—a, founded by entrepreneur and researcher Alina Kryukova in 2018 to popularize art collecting among a new generation of buyers. The exhibition features works by artist Rinat Mustafin, who works with various media. In his painting, he mainly uses the language of abstraction — the ancient language of images and symbols. He is inspired by industrial design, natural forms, and sacred geometry. He sees art as a communication tool for exchanging abstract and subtle meanings.

On April 22, the Golden Quarter on Sofiyskaya embankment hosted the author's art performance “Our Meeting Without Repetition”, which combined a piano concert by a world-class musician Denis Matsuev, and the work of Anastasia Antipova, an artist who has participated in Russian and international exhibitions and residencies.

a—s—t—r—a presented an exhibition of the gallery's artists Kirill Koteshov, Oleg Dou and Pavel Bushuyev in the Bibliotheca living room space.

The Galleries Association and SberFirst, a premium format for servicing Sber's wealthy clients, have launched a joint project — "Art on Sretenka".

This collaboration is an alternative opportunity to enter the closed world of the art market, enlisting the reliable support of experts and without being distracted from everyday tasks.

The first exhibition combined different trends and styles in contemporary art, bringing together high-quality works.
The works for the exhibition were provided by the Association's member galleries — 11.12 GALLERY and a—s—t—r—a — projects by experienced gallery owners Alexander Sharov and Alina Kryukova.

In collaboration with the a—s—t—r—a gallery, an issue of the leading Russian philosophical journal Logos has been prepared on the topic of “Hedonism and Decadence”. Philosophers, cultural scientists and social researchers discuss the nature of hedonism and decadence in various societies and times. The authors of the issue include Svetlana Voloshina, Ivan Mikirtumov, Polina Khanova, Alexander Pogrebnyak, Alexander Vileykis, Sergey Fokin and others. Continuing the reflections that Alexander Kupalyan’s exhibition begins, the issue shows the connections between the social and decadence/hedonism.

In September, Mates Bistro opened in the Lucky residential area. A sketch was specially designed for the wall by artist Ilya Kutoboy, whose works are distinguished by their cheerfulness, simplicity and lightness.

"RBK Style" opens the spring season with a printed issue dedicated to the topic of gifts. We have collected ideas that can inspire. Our colleague Ksenia Solovieva, former editor-in-chief of Russian Vogue, acted as the guest editor of the column - she compiled a very personal gift guide.

This issue is also about love. On the cover is a line from a song by Dolphin. You will find his thoughts on feelings, music and life around him in the interview. And the characters of the artist Kirill Doeshvili got not only on the cover, but also in the author's columns. Anton Utkin discusses love in the territory of psychology, and professor of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, medieval historian Oleg Voskoboinikov, another of our regular columnists, talks about what love was like in the Middle Ages.

ADDA gems continues to explore the intersection of visual and jewelry art through collaborations with contemporary artists.

Ilya Kutoboy is one of the most prominent representatives of the Russian art scene. And the mood and style of his "tropical primitivism" perfectly matches the aesthetics of ADDA gems jewelry.

In collaboration with Ilya, limited edition jewelry packaging was created in the signature style of "tropical primitivism". Only 500 boxes!

A joint project of the PLANTA ROSA brand with artist Ilya Kutoboy.

As part of the collaboration, a capsule collection was released: 12 sweatshirts and 1 anorak were hand-painted.

For each issue |catalog| presents the project |catalog| limited edition — a closed edition (100 copies) of signed printed works of art, produced at the main Russian art printing workshop "PiranesiLAB", which has potential collector's value. The proceeds from the sale will be donated to the charity initiatives of the fair. The cost of one copy of such an edition will be the same for all issues — 33,000 rubles. The work was created especially for the December fair by the artist Georgy Ostretsov.

Gosha Ostretsov

Born in 1967 in Moscow. In 1984, he graduated from the Theater and Art School at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. He was a member of the "Kindergarten" group of artists. From 1988 to 1998, he lived in Paris, worked with Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Jean-Paul Gaultier, and Luc Besson. The works are in the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art of the Russian Academy of Arts in Moscow, the Arctic and Antarctic Museum in St. Petersburg, the S. Freud Museum of Dreams in St. Petersburg, in the private collections of Charles Saatchi, Simon de Pury and others.

edis and the contemporary art fair |catalog| have teamed up to support young artists.

|catalog| is a large-scale industrial contemporary art fair that is held twice a year — in April and December.
As part of the second edition of the fair |catalog|, we presented a limited edition of bottles created in collaboration with the artist Ilya Kutoboy, one of the new names from one of the galleries.

Ilya Kutoboy is a Moscow-based illustrator. His style, “Tropical Primitivism,” is inspired by his travels through Southeast Asia, and his works, which combine a mix of painting, graphics, fragments of phrases, words, resemble dreams with a non-linear plot.

"The feeling of flying over the swaying crowns of palm trees, returning to my temporary shelter after a hot day - I caught myself in this mood when another day on the ocean shore ended," - this is how the artist describes the work "Palm Prince", which formed the basis of the collaboration.

Travel and nature are incredibly resonant with edis. Living water edis is born high in the Caucasus Mountains and goes a long way from the depths of the earth to begin a new journey to your hearts.
At the end of the year, according to the terms of the fair, gallery owners present the works of young artists at their stands. It is from among these names that edis and |catalog| will select two in December 2024, with whom they will release limited bottles and who will receive a grant.

Together with Cosmotheca, a limited series of postcards with the work of the gallery resident Artur Krivoshein “The Easiest Way to Breathe Underwater” was created for the 1703 Art Fair.

Artur Krivoshein uses spontaneity and improvisation as his main artistic methods, inviting the viewer to see reality from a different angle, to discover what remains hidden, and to give a new interpretation. His work “The Easiest Way to Breathe Underwater” is about the opportunity to feel like an observer in flight, like a bird... or to swim away to explore coral reefs filled with a variety of marine life. Collaboration with artist Grigory Maslennikov for the residential complex "Zolotoy" on Sofiyskaya Embankment.

Concept of works:

In 1871, Arthur Rimbaud wrote the poem "Vowels", in which he sets himself the task of finding the true meaning of each letter and sound, namely, he gives a color meaning to each vowel.

So he formed a kind of color table consisting of:

A - black velvet, darkness, ink color;

E - whiteness;

I - purple, scarlet;

U - green, grassy;

O - Blue, grayish tones

For the project, Grigory made a special study of the socio-cultural profile of Russians and changes in the features of the national character in recent years in connection with a series of global cataclysms and events.

Flair Russia 2022 /4th issue/ was dedicated to the transition of formations from the VUCA world (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) to the BANI world (brittle, anxious, nonlinear, incomprehensible).

The VUCA concept referred primarily to the increasing complexity of the world, BANI is a transition to a new level, global changes, when people come to understanding through dialogue, train their intuition and find the right directions for working with changes.

That is, our world is changing and moving to a new level, experiencing changes.

The flagship office of Otkritie Private Banking, a division of Otkritie Bank working with wealthy clients, is updating its exhibitions of works by famous artists from Moscow and St. Petersburg.

The exhibition is presented by a long-standing partner of Otkritie Bank – a—s—t—r—a – a gallery project created by Alina Kryukova in 2018 to promote art among a new generation of connoisseurs and popularize collecting.

On December 29, 2021, the exhibition of the artist Ekaterina Zhilina, a graduate of the Free Workshops of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, with works from the MINDSCAPES series, officially opened at the Mentalitet restaurant.

The artist used Russian popular prints and medieval marginalia as references. These crude and conventional images are used in memes and incredibly accurately reflect the sense of reality of a modern person.

In the era of deepfakes and manipulation of the media space, reality is perceived as a retelling of retellings that contradict each other, adding up to a vibrating, schizophrenic picture, white noise.

The exhibition will last until the end of January.

«SYMBIOSIS: JOLIE ALIEN + MIKITA KUNITSKI»

Mikita Kunitsky is the creator of the Hiayderfyt jewelry brand, an ideologist, stylist and idea generator all rolled into one.

His friend and creative ally Jolie Alien is an autodidact artist, exclusively represented in the a—s—t—r—a gallery.

Jolie works with striking images, simple plots, cropped compositions and expressive drawing.

Her portfolio includes more than 10 group and solo exhibitions, two international fairs (Enter Art Fair, Copenhagen and Cosmoscow), sale of rights to her works for international campaigns of Mango and Adidas, participation in charity auctions of Forbes Woman, Vladey, the VoBlago foundation.

The close friendship of the artists prompted them to create the art project "SYMBIOSIS".

This exhibition is the result of reflections on the influence of friends on each other's work, the unification of different and at the same time similar perceptions of reality.

Reflecting on the theme of nature and modern man, Mikita Kunitski and Jolie Alien communicate with the world through paintings and objects: as part of the art performance, a capsule collection of Hiayderfyt jewelry, which Mikita created especially for Peak, will be presented.
