ILYAGO
Ilya's work addresses the materiality of memory and its transformation in the digital age. His hybrid practice, combining painting, generative algorithms, and digital artifacts, creates visual fields where personal and collective experience faces the challenge of fixation and inevitable distortion.
The key method is deconstructing twenty years of internationally award-winning professional experience in graphic and motion design, which has allowed him to develop a complex visual language. The artist deliberately makes "system errors", violates the perfection of digital tools, turning them into medium, where control gives way to the study of affective traces. He is attracted to working with unpredictability: familiar images integrated into abstraction are transformed under the influence of generative algorithms that behave according to their own nature. The outcome cannot be predicted in advance; the decision to end the work occurs when the optimal balance between randomness and control is achieved.
The academic background in painting and the subsequent break with art for more than 20 years formed the basis of this approach — not as a break, but as a complex evolution.
The return to artistic practice was a response to critical social events, turning the design skill into a tool for creating rhizomatic visual narratives.
His work is not a rejection of the past, but a reinterpretation of it: from harmony to a living, unfinished process.
