“In my practice I focus on personal and socio-political themes, problems of the functioning of culture and the artistic community. The works often include feelings of frustration and meaninglessness; the burden of various phenomena in the context of capitalist relations. I bring out different aspects of reality by producing a kind of shifts, combinations or transpositions into a new context of familiar elements, thus emphasizing the viewer's attention to different ideas. From a visual point of view, the works refer to perfectionism and workaholism by their neatness and elaboration. I work in various mediums: painting, graphics, installation, photography, video, performance, objects.”

"10.000 hours" project

Scale-coordinate paper / ink, 30x42 cm.

2020-present.

At the moment 14 sheets out of 100 are finished.

This series can be looked at from several angles and different contents, but the core is neurotic incivility.

On the one hand, there is the saying that any activity needs 10,000 hours to become a professional. In a sense, the arrangement of dots on scale-coordinate paper is an illustration of the time spent to achieve those cherished 10,000 hours.

On the other hand, the series emerged in a period of lockdown, in a situation of stress and uncertainty. Looking at these works from this perspective, they appear to be a visual embodiment of nervousness and anxiety, but at the same time, they are also a way of meditating and detaching from anxiety.
