Gorbunov Dmitriy

Dmitry Gorbunov was born in 1985.

In 2007 he graduated from the Roerich Art College (St. Petersburg) in the sculpture department, and in 2011 at the Repin Academy of Arts (St. Petersburg) at the faculty of monumental painting. He is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia since 2016.

Included in the TOP 100 recognized young artists in the opinion of the analytical platform on Russian contemporary art “INART”. Works are in private collections. Lives and works in Moscow.

The works of Dima Gorbunov relate to the direction of photorealistic figurative painting, where the main role is played by the conditionality of the environment, that’s what the artist dictates the images: it could be night dusk, fluorescent light or the polygonal world.

Now it is a green cosmogony and gaming. A new emptiness from which superrealistic, vivid and desirable images of mass culture are born. Schemes of computer games, robot characters, and everything that will imperceptibly and rapidly immerse into oblivion the centuries of the old idealistic culture appear on the canvases.
