Alimov Bakhrom

Having a modest academic education in the field of fine arts, Bahrom Alimov is rapidly developing as an artist due to his diligence and love of experimenting with materials and techniques, and his relaxed play with proportions and perspective. Bahrom quickly learns large formats in painting, skillfully handling various subjects, but preferring surrealistic works. In his art, Bahrom reflects on how the generation of the 2000s serves as a chaotic filter of post-Soviet upbringing and the information singularity in which they find themselves.

"As an artist and a modern person, in principle, I inevitably find myself in the field of unlimited and uncontrolled influence of cultural archetypes and information flows. These factors shape my language and worldview. In this space, mythology, politics, religion and media images are intertwined, creating a continuous "singularity" where disparate meanings strive for unity. The inevitability of external narratives does not deprive me of the opportunity to comprehend reality in a new way. Today, I increasingly want to free space from imposed interpretations, paying more attention to its inner layering. This approach allows me not only to capture shapes, but also to explore how fear of the unknown affects the perception of the new. This fear locks us in predictable patterns, making the world monotonous. For me, art is a way to dialogue with the unknown, which helps to get beyond this vicious circle. My creative process is not only an intuitive act, but also a methodical work. I start by building shapes based on real proportions, using sitters and photographs. But already at the stage of the first sketches, the game begins. Intuition takes over: the figures deform, strict proportions give way to improvisation. Then the colors and shapes begin to mix, flowing into each other, creating a balance between the concrete and the abstract. Texture, saturation, and application technique also become part of this process. The final image is never fully planned. This is a melody that is born in the process, reflecting not only my thoughts, but also deep feelings. Unconscious drawing becomes an important part of my work, giving the works emotional depth and creating a space that each viewer can interpret in their own way."
